Description

Designers in the 1930s began to bring all sorts of innovation into their designs for cars, planes and trains to reduce wind resistance. Smooth and rounded began to replace square and boxy. This 1937 Cord was a speed record setter in its day. It set speed records in 1937 that were not broken for 15 years.

Thanks for sharing the interesting info. Funny thing is I can see elements in the design of this car in some of the modern designs of today. Beautiful shot.

It seems so big at the front and so small at the back ! with that engine size I'm not surprised it broke speed records :) what a beautiful shot, the light in the foreground really empthasisies the size of this car.

Cord patented the fold down headlights which is why no other cars of that era had them.
