Description

The first run of this cliff railway took place on April 9th 1890. It links Lynton at the top with Lynmouth at the bottom and is in regular use, especially with the tourists. It operates solely on water which is fed into a large tank on the top car and when ready to go the water in the bottom car is released making the top car heaviest thereby letting gravity do the work.
