Description

A comparative render using Vue 12's new photometric atmosphere. The lower image was rendered in Vue 10, the top was done in Vue 12. Settings : Location - a village in Staffordshire ;) Date - 8th November, 2013, Time - 11.15 am The water looks much better in the new render, not sure about the rest. What's your opinions??

Gill, I think both images look fabulous. Still you have a point about the water in the newer render.

The top image looks more realistic to me, the bottom one is too saturated - still a nice render, but the top one has it for realism!

Part of it could be the lighting. On the top the light is low front left and has a slight evening cast to it, on the bottom it's high side right with a whiter daylight cast. Raking light always seems to work best. If lighting is the same, weird how 10 and 12 take a different interpretation of the light. But I agree, the top looks better, but it could just be the light.

I personally didn't change anything, but Vue itself may have altered the light direction when I set the date and time

Mixed bag. Somewhere half way between two would seem ideal. Nice composition.

The water is great in the top one. The rest doesn't look as good indeed. Some of it looks even fake and weird. How about setting the sun the a summer day time, what would that bring?

I'm for the bottom render as it has more vibrant colors. The water is more convincing in the bottom render, I think. But wow! Beautifully done.

hm, when I see it right the first one has a mirror of the clouds in the water. This is very awesome. But the 2 renders has it own charme, it is hard to say what is a favorite. Nevertheless an awesome work Gill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
