I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

I'd say maybe a million to one? Excellent work, Bob. I like everything about it, including the Lithops. :-) Is this Terragen 3 ? I don't have it yet.

Yes, this is TG3. You will love the features. Tomorrow, Planetside is having a 'Webinar' from London hosted by 3D Magazine. For me, it starts at 5 am Phoenix time. Hope I'll be up in time to participate. Hopefully I'll learn more about the new features. 'Oshyan Greene'. business Manager of Planetside will be conducting. This will be a chance to meet him and all the other folks that use Terragen.

The shot composition is great...the slope across the frame makes this very interesting to the eye. The line from the stones in the lower left to the tree in the upper right criss-crosses the terrain slope perfectly and the lighting reveals all the details with remarkable clarity. Another great piece of TG work Bob!!

Thanks Pete, the next image will be a close-up to the ground so folks can get an idea of their natural size.. I'm looking for a .tgo or .obj that I can put into the scene to show size comparison as the plants are only about one inch and less in diameter.

I understand; but, you and I have been able to communicate very well over the years - and, the webinar is very visual. You certainly would be able to learn from it. Hope you will participate next time.
