My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Oooh, shiny! Nice pair. Looks like a C-47 on top. I'll take the roadster on the bottom. You can keep the station wagon on the top.

Wow, thanks for this one, love airplanes, old or new. Form follows function, and when it does, it's beautiful. Rick

Today I'll parrot Andrea. Terrific! Shiny and satisfying. I missed this pair...I was off in the back looking at something less shiny but equally satisfying:)

WOW! This has to be seen in full size. A really beautiful and shiny shot, Tara. :)

Not sure if polishing them would be a pleasure or a pain! Two beautiful aircraft well captured and much appreciated. Did I read right? 'Bill missed them', you really shouldn't let him wear his sunglasses indoors Tara :-)
Katraz
Wow all that shinyness to polish.

I also really like these finishes as well! Seems like they really are ready for take-off! Great view! I can just imagine how great it would be climbing into one! :)

I see where it is, a nice little town. A classical Dakota. We took one in Peru with friends, in 1973 (Lima->Huaraz). Terrific, black oil was going on all a wing, but we got there safe..They gave us to drink : "Chicha Morada" and nothing to eat. Great souvenir ! One of my friend took the same kind of plane in Peru a year later, but they had a boa (big snake) going quietly between the passengers feets.

Ooooooo - shiny! Looks like little brother and big brother - what a wonderful shot, Tara! I just love the classic lines of the DC-3 / C-47 "Goony Bird." I still would like to take a flight on one. What a beauty.

Love that golden glow!!

Raw metal always looks great on machines of that time... sort of "Anything Goes...."
