Description

Some more play in DAZ Studio. This is by far the most complicated scene I've made in that, a good chance to use some old stuff I've never used before. Learned quite a bit doing it :) And,I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of the indirect lighting here. Compared to Vue, I felt a little frustrated, and missed the ecosystems to add some details ("visual noise") on the ground. Would be very time consuming in DS. DAZ Studio render, minor touch-ups in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing, comments etc. welcome and appreciated. Have a nice day, Lars Previously:thumb_2487452.jpg

as you are a fairly new user at DAZ Studio, I say you did very, very well at it... in terms of realism and details..I think you have inspired me to try that program out :) Speaking of lacking ecosystems, I have purchased some flink's "instant" products that provides large patches of grasses, weeds, etc that works well on flat surfaces that gives an ecosystem appearance of. It is for Vue and Poser (and any program that accepts .obj formats)

Nicely done...would also like to see what this looks like in Vue! Did you use a preset lighting set for this,or Daz spotlights?

I used a customized version of a HDRI preset (IBL + directional "sunlight". Indirect light with directional shadows, boosted values).

Nice. I tried DS when it first came out. It was slow and buggy. I hear it's better now. I usually work in poser, because you can transfer things into Vue very easily. Vue has it's drawbacks too. It doesn't render skin or hair very well. So, I render figures in Poser and put them in Vue images in Photoshop. I don't think there is a perfect program. - Bob

I do not enjoy images of subjugation. That is why I want to comment on this. Considering the theme, I think you have handled the placement of the characters delicately. It avoids the tired imagery of debased woman as object, and makes it rather open to placing the focus on the one who is opposing her treatment.

Come on, "Turin", it's just a silly picture, and take the title into consideration. The theme is so cliché, I can think of many, many films etc. where a young woman is taken captive be evil men :)

Cool lighting and composition! Just export, open in Vue and eco to your hearts content, though you may have to play with the surfaces in Vue to lessen the bump effect on some materials...:)

Thanks! But if you were familiar with my work in general, you'd know that I've made a lot of renders with DAZ characters in Vue. This is about composing and rendering in DAZ Studio :)

And here you have hit on the primary reason I don't do outdoor scenes much at all. I'm still hoping to jump over using an environment builder like Vue to using a regular 3D studio app. I figure if it's possible for Stonemason, then it will one day be possible for me, even if I use Blender (not Max) and am still building my skills.

Great render. Omnifreaker's Uber lights and shaders for DS work really well. Reality for DS which bridges DS with the Lux renderer is impressive as well. You may want to play with that. I've also had fun using Garibaldi hair plugin for DS.

Perfect balance and action it steps right off the screen and comes to life. I think I've paused a movie. Great job!
