This one came together quite quickly (about 8 hours total). The original ground was a grainy desert, which looked good, but lacked something. It was time to 'liven' it up...so I ran a river of lava in a crack right through the friggin' center of the desert...worked out nicely. Would be fun to go down that molten river in a kayak...for a few seconds atleast.

May I be the first to say "WOW"? Great image, cool composition. Not sure about the kayaking, guess I'm just not as much of an adventurous (or at least suicidal) spirit. Love everything abou this, very cool :)

Stunning! The sharpness and use of many vivid colors is totally pro, one of the best images I've seen! And I'd say go for a carbon-carbon material for your k'jak, you know, like that stuff they use on the space shuttles? Perhaps it would help prolong the journey for a few seconds, at least!
HYPNOITICPOISON
this is one of the best images i have ever seen. you have just made my day.
Curio
excellent and beautiful! - just one small thing, if those are moons of the planet the viewer is on, then the angle of their lit crescents would be the same (if the normal rules of physics apply - and who's to say that they should? ;)
gerry_g
Terrain an' general look is briliant, not too sure about the planets being lit in different directions, light source should have been common !! ;-)
Torulf
Fantastic!

I am still puzzled myself on what these 3 moons should look like. Light flows parallel from the sun, but the crescents HAVE to point towards it, or it wouldn't be correct, or would it? A good example is light rays from the sun coming through the clouds... it IS radial not parallel. I am going to be unable to sleep for weeks now! Jeff

I agree with the moon direction comment. This still is however one of the best Bryce images I've seen for a while

Very Kewl... Tarsus 4 a Star Trek planet?
RedSpartan
Beautiful planetscape. The moons don't really detract from the essence of the picture, so I wouldn't worry about them. And I think Shayhurs is right, Tarsus 4 is from Trek I think, but this version doesn't look as though it's made out of cardboard.
