Description
She began by saying that, while many people assume that Indian singing was limited to 'war chants', a very large number of songs were of the type that she was presenting. She then sang a group of beautifully melodious romantic songs in their original language, followed by renditions translated to English. As she sang, her hands and body delicately swayed in motions enhancing the lyrics. At the completion of her performance the audience momentarily sat in awed silence with eyes filled with emotional tears! They then applauded, vowing to never use the word 'savage' again!
