Description

This image is to share a bit of my life. In the last couple of years I have been blessed to live in Flevoland in the Netherlands. Flevoland is a new land here. That simply means this land was reclaimed from the ocean by Dutch ingenuity. The project was started after a devastating storm in 1953 claimed many lives and caused significant property damage on the Zuiderzee, as well as other areas in the Netherlands and other countries located along the North Sea. Dikes were built, and land was dried. The Zuiderzee became a smaller area divided into two lakes to help control storm damage and The dried land became Flevoland. Windmills are an integral part of the new land. There are many of these modern windmills located all around Flevoland. When I come home from another area of the Netherlands I look forward to seeing my first glimpse of the windmills of Flevoland.

A super picture and a lot of people don't like the wind mills but you obviously do.

I love windmills like this too. Their silhouettes are lovely and knowing they are creating green energy adds to their beauty. I saw acres of windmills from the plane on my last trip home after visiting my son in Seattle. It was cool to see them with their shadows from way up high. Beautiful sunset! Wonderful capture and interesting narrative!

Yes, these windmills are fascinating, stnding there in a row, rotating in the wind. We have alot of them here too. I always have to take a shot of them when we pass them on the road.. And it is good to know they are making green energy. What a beautiful shot this is.
