Description

Sorry, but I got waylaid commenting! I was the proud recipient of online hacking, and that has a way of taking over your life... But I'm returning to comments this week. In the meantime, a shot from home, a year ago. I didn't turn-off comments because some of you don't like when I do...but I hate asking for comments when I've not given, so if you just wanna look, that's ok! I'll be visiting soon, Mark (Much fuller, full-size--it's big)

Mark, you dont ASK for comments, you open up for comments to let us decide if we want or not. Dont worry. We wont sue you for letting us choose. :-) Especially when you come up with such a fabulous photo as this one with the wonderful red building, surrounded with lovely trees in sunshine. I love how the sun and trees together create another pattern layer on the gorgeous brick walls :) I think you did a splendid job on this shot. Love it. !!!!!

Good heavens, Mark, despite all of your trials and tribulations, you had the wherewithal to capture The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, in all its splendor! Remarkable colors, and deep lush contrasts in this snap. Sorry about your being hacked.

Aaaaahhh, what a satisfying photo. Makes me think of a 1000 piece picture puzzle...loads of detail, beautiful colors, hues and more hues, dappled light. Just downright outstanding!

The warmth of this shot is what really stands out for me. Regardless of the physical temperature, the photographic light is superb, and you've made it feel like it's the best day of the year the whole world over, right there on that corner. Then I start to get lost in the architectural details, the arches, the wavy glass, the way one material looks next to another, the patterns of the tree shadows on the bricks, the lamp posts, the flowers and gardens and railings and all those things that make Chicago what it is. I know it's your every day experience, but this makes it look more like it feels to me ... a special vacation, a few stolen days in perfect weather, and lots and lots of love. Beautiful! Oh ... and what Helle said. Absolutely.

The colours grab my attention, Mark, it is how their warmth play with the light and shadow, giving a good feeling and make me smile. It is by far not so beautiful around here in my place, dark, rainy, cold and blowy since weeks, but well, what will I do, I will get one more coffee, tea or chicken soup to keep me warm :)

Here you are! And, I've taken far too long getting here for a visit to you! I also promise a personal letter soon, to catch you up on happenings in my time away. But, here's the deal. I'm holding it hostage on one condition. That you will not pull a total Mark and self impose the sense of obligation over a reply, or whether or not you can manage a response. Totally serious, please. Ahhh..good. I just knew you'd see it my way eventually. :) Now, this image...the light here is what I'm instantly taken with. You did a perfect job capturing those beautiful, warm, yellow hues, Mark. With the light filtering through the foliage as it is, it's a bit hard to tell the precise time of day, but it looks like that time of day where those yellow rays grow longer, and stretch out like a slow yawn. And I love how the leaves are just beginning to lose their energy. Such a beautiful view, and lovely building, too. Your 'hood's definitely not too shabby, my friend . Hmm.. I wonder, any clue on the blooming red shrub? Camellia maybe? Hope you are soaking up equally warm light, Mark...the same kind you exude. :)

Fantastic capture and motif, Mark. Very beautiful architecture behind those trees. But still a fantastic light and shadow play from the trees. Sorry to hear about the cyber crime. Hope you got it solved and cured.
