Description
The Cutty Sark was built in 1869 and was one of the last sailing clippers to be built. This ship is now dry-docked at Greenwich and serves as a museum ship.
In 2007 the Cutty Sark was severely damaged by a fire whilst it was going under conservation. As a result the ship, as well as the immediate area, got a facelift and was restored and reopened in 2012.
I posted a pano of the Cutty Sark prior to its restoration, so feel free to compare 'before and after'. Personally, I have to say the glass housing (supposed to resemble a wave) takes away from its original presentation giving it a shielded and obscured feel which should be opposite to the purpose of a ship which is to withstand and be open to the elements...Dispite this, it's great to see the ship again :)

I can see the "waterline" effect, but it does look hokey. Glad to see the old girl is still there.

I built a large model of this ship when I was a teen (from a kit). The rigging was a real bear, took weeks. While I was at college, one of my mother's cats took a liking to it and chewed it to tatters. No, the glass monstrosity she "sits" on doesn't look like a wave, it looks like a giant inflated raft.

I agree with you on the new presentation for the same reasons but nonetheless it is a great ship and a superb shot
