Description
Third and last of the series, captured 11/9/13, early morning, at the south wall of our local public library.
One of two broad displays set on either end of the library entrance, this depicting the advance of California from the early Spanish days to a current agricultural, economic and industrial giant, and home to thirty million inhabitants. When I was in my teens there were about seven milion people, which should give a hint as to my age. And don't get me started on overpopulation.
I tried interpreting the various pictographs on this vast display; some are self explanatory, others a bit surreal, such as the bottom two pics, depicting spacecraft on blast off and the sun.
A ZOOM would help, especially with the top photo.
Bye bye.

Amazing! a much under used art form, I guess not many people have the patience these days. Perhaps the rocket ships are a type of 'Mayan Prediction', once California becomes too overcrowded people will be sent to live on the Sun, or a reference to people retiring to California to live in the Sun. The building itself is a strange one, the brickwork makes me want to look at these rotated 90 degrees, did the Library fall over ? I have never seen a building with all the brickwork layed on end, fascinating.....

Nicely done Harry. Take any great place to live and people flock to it. We spend a great deal of our time figuring out where people are not...then going there to get away from the crowds. Like the way you've laid out the mosaic for us...so much to see.
