My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I've been there with my son when he was stationed in Yuma. Loved it and many other places around Yuma. Great shot. Rick

Very interesting... what a great find and photo! :-)

A most delightful capture, Tara! I love how this seems to tell a story of a time when these bits and pieces were busily humming along in hopes of striking that mother-lode. B&W suits it perfectly - echos of the past...

A fine collection of 'things' ? - or maybe a name for a game: 'What am I' ? (just like Charades) ;P The essence of light and shade in B&W - very cleverly cropped and presented here ... BB

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Andrea's comment has me back looking at this wonderful photo...thinking about drawing this collection...light, shadows, perspective, textures. Oh, guess what, that's what photography is all about too. Really like this in B&W.

What an interesting collection of leftover pieces; I'd love to know what they all were for and how they were used. It does work well in B&W, but you know that!

This really is a cool image. The shadows and everything are awesome. You could make an art study of this for weeks.

Junk into art...

This tells a story. I can see a date of manufacture but why the two dates? I am always fascinated by these places where people just seem to have walked away from everything.

What a neat looking subject! I like the presentation as well in black and white! The lighting is most perfect, and you're right... one wouldn't know any sense of organization just by looking at this. Glad you shared this with us!

historical still life - perfect captured in b/w

Interesting view of these artifacts. For me it brings up philosophical thoughts on how our cultures seem to predisposed to leave things we no longer need just lying around.
