Hello:
I present to the Douglas DC-2, a model about to leave my hangar.
The Douglas DC-2 was a aircraft, a pioneer in the early 30s, a good aircraft, in the shadow of its successor, the legendary DC-3.
In those years, the manufacturers of civil aircraft of the United States, were at the forefront of aviation technique, monoplanes with careful aerodynamic and entirely metal construction, retractable landing gear, etc..
At the start of the Spanish civil war 4 units DC-2 airline L.A.P.E. were the most modern and fast planes existing in Spain. From the first day of the military rebellion were confiscated by the Republican government, and used as bombers (with bombs loaded on the seats), gold transport, procurement and liaison.
