Description

This is a shot taken from the terrace of Pullwood bay. Holiday accommodations, and the base for our last trip to the lakes. It has acres of gardens and its own jetty. The lake cruises will pick you up and drop you off there too! The sun was going down fast. The shadow of the wooded hills behind us was creeping up the glowing hills at the other side of the lake. The jetty has a bench in the middle of it, a very tranquil spot! I have taken many shots from that bench, some adventurer aren't I? A 2 minute walk from our flat in the big house! A burned out sky but I wanted some detail in the foreground and it has a hand held snap. No tripod on me and I would have missed the moment if I went back for it! So no HDR option at the time with my camera.

Excellent, the off the cuff capture usually is the one that makes and wins the day Kev. Great shot mate!

I was in the lake district earlier this year I have to say I was expecting a lot and wasn't disappointed. I climbed the catbells and really enjoyed Castlerigg stone circle. Definitely a different world then I'm used to in Australia.

Catbells is one of my favourites! The stone circle does have an aura about it I found. That's weird as I am not a spiritual/Religious person at all. The Lakes is a place we visit whenever we can, travelling from Australia would drastically reduce the number!
