Description

Hi all on Renderosity I wanted to show you the Second HMS Babbage but the stupid Computer deleted it ******* so Here is the third version of HMS Babbage(you can see HMS Babbage 2 on my book called the Art of Space and the Universe). HMS Babbage mk 3 is Huge about 1000 Times the size of the Saturn V Rocket and it is a Ship so enormous it has its own Gravity. I would like to dedicate this to a friend who for years helped me grow as a Bryce Artist he is a very dear friend as well as sort of idol. David Robinson if you are reading this I would be honored if the next Space Craft I could Name after you. Thank you my friend all comments Welcome

Fantastic looking spacecraft, I'd love to see this craft flying over a house, so I see the size aspect between house and ship to get an idea of how really big this craft is. Thanks for posting this, great artwork on this. Stan

Well Karl, this I must admit is an awesome model. I think you are really getting the hang of how to use Bryce and this model just proves my point. This model is the best that I have seen you create to date. You are really thinking about every little aspect of the ship from the engine sections to the command and hab quarters. This has nothing to do with me as your designs are really coming together with a well thought out spaceship as you have just proved with this model. Excellent modeling and the lighting is wonderful. Keep going for it as you are coming into your own my friend. Thanks again for you kind words about my work but I must tell you now that you are quite capable of standing on your own 2 feet with your own designs. I look forward to see what you produce next. Regards, David

Thanks Everyone I have to say it has been fun making space ships in Bryce for the past 7 years I am planning on making something even more complicated in the future. Cheers Karl

Excellent model, and at 68.75 miles long (1,000 times larger than the 363' tall Saturn-V), pretty large!

As David said, you have found your own path and you have come a long way, most people do not realize just how hard it is to model in Bryce, anyone can slap something together and make a nice image, but to go and intersect, slide boleans inside through and around each other while battling with the wire mesh mode in the main user window, it is a nightmare. I look forward to seeing your next fantastic model too, and David was the one who aided me with my work too, my mentor and my brother, a true gent and a legend in Bryce.

Thanks Steve Yeah Bryce is a challenging modeller but in my view it is also the best. And as you and David have said before anyone can follow a tutorial but to be great you have to develop on your own. Cheers Karl
