Description
South Sakota houses the working dispatch station and crew lounge. Only problem is it sits in a lake part of the year. They didn't know this when they built the dispatch station and crew lounge. The west end of the yard all 10 tracks sit in the new lake year round about three quarters of the yard. They had to build walk bridges between all the tracks, to get from one track to another. Luckily the east end is on dry land that contains the shop and refueling stations and sanding tower.
Here we have a conductor waiting for the rest of his crew to come to the train and hook up to a 60 car coal train. These two engines are a little bit under powered. The 6 axle fleet is coming in very slowly, the bulk of their locomotives are four axle locomotives and they barely have enough to run three short trains leaving a 20 to 30 car build up for each train that leaves South Sakota and Madera and Breeze Mines. Work is having to be stopped at the mines due to the shorter trains straining to pull the 60 loaded cars thru the mountains.
Nice thing is they now have plenty of crews trained to run any new locomotives that may show up at anytime. They are sitting and waiting as well as the miners, with nothing to do except run switchers and build trains up for the crews leaving for Fallon.

They need to balance their power a little better. Oh, and get some floats for their engines! ;)
