Description

We have in Denmark areas called Allotments, where people live in little houses and little gardens close to eachother. In my Childhood area there was such an area, just it was much bigger when I was a child. People said it was poor people living there. Now it is rather a lifestyle living like that and many of the houses are so idyllic and I believe people can live there for not much money. :) As a little girl, I was there every so often. At the end of the area the water began. My father was member of a little boat union near the water. He had a little motor boat he built himself. He also built a little shed, where we could sit when it was raining and have tea. I loved that place. What you see here is this area. And my sons live in same area, but the youngest lives in apartment and the oldest in a rowhouse 400 meters from the youngest :) This shot was taken on our way from the youngest sons apt to the oldest home yesterday. It was almost 3 in the aftern and the weather was grey and cloudy, so there was not much light to photograph in. This Galaxy camera is actually good at taking shots in less good light :) Have a beautiful sunday. Today it was even darker and very windy. Thank you for viewing and commenting. :-)

Helle, This is a wonderful photo. Thank you so much for explaining about these areas, and for providing us with a bit of history

Looks like a quiet area. A superb shot, despite the low light. Thanks for the detailed informations too.

As Andrea says, I have an 'allotment' but it is a rented garden amongst hundreds of others where I grow vegetables. I like your shot and your explanation Helle.

We have nothing like that here. I grew up in Los Angeles in a smaller house than that, though, surrounded by other smaller houses with little gardens. It was just the way the houses were back then!
