I heard the blues sneakin' round my backdoor last night but I latched it quick so they couldn' get in later I heard them singin' at the moon soundin' that ol' mississippi moanin' soundin' like twenty cats in love but I put myself to bed pulled a pillow on my head pretended I was dead I saw the blues drivin' down the freeway this mornin' lurkin' in the fast lane settin' pretty in a bright red ford all ready to cut me off I pushed the pedal to the floor heard my motor roar I headed for the off ramp The blues are gonna getcha... the blues are gonna getcha... if you don' watch out I saw them at the shoppin' mall browsin' in the book store flippin' through copies of life, the universe and everything I saw them changin' the marquee at the bijou and sweepin' the floor at Walmart saw them every single damn place I went the blues are gonna getcha if you don' watch out but hey blues, I ain' gonna let ya get me
