Description

Our local museum had a Porsche exhibit so I took a few pics....ok, I took a lot of pics and thought I would share a few. This was post worked in Lightroom 5 and then Nik Software's Color Efx Pro 4. I made minor corrections to the exposure and clarity in Lightroom, then in Color Efx Pro I added a graduated filter, used a bleach filter with global and local contrast on high, and finalized with a border. I am making a series of greeting cards to sell for the car enthusiast. I wanted to capture the "idea" of the car and not the car itself.

This is one of the "ICON" racecars.

Yeah, it was really cool seeing these cars in one place. The museum featured 22 different Porsches. One was Janis Joplin's car. Fun day to take photos and experiment with some art concepts.

Awe you rotten tease!!!, where's the rest of it???... fancy putting Porsche 908 is the header and only showing a snippet of the rear deck!!.. the 907, 908 and 917 ARE my favourites of the racing Porsche's. On a serious note, a great idea for a card, but as an enthusiast, I do want to see a wee bit more of the car.. so zoom out a tad, and I think you have a winner....

Ha ha ha. Tim you made me chuckle. From your comment, it looks like I actually hit what I was aiming at. I wanted to capture the "idea" of the car, not just do an image of the car. I wanted the viewer to recognize a piece and then mentally make a connection to the car. You should see the card. I printed this on Archival stock (acid free) using my Epson Stylus Photo Pro 3000 using K3 archival inks which last forever. The card stock has this nice lightly textured and soft feel. So far, I have made 9 different cards with another 13 to go. You'll get to see these soon. Hope to get them done and posted on my Etsy page by next weekend.

I think you are close to the money there Plasmid... it is a great photo and a cool idea for a card, I'd just like to see it panned back a bit, to capture a bit more of the cockpit curve, but that's just me.. you happened to pick one of my favs, so got me excited. As a representation of a racing Porsche, it's perfect as is ;o)
