Description

As I look through the many Carrara images posted, I see a lot of muddy skin textures and overall lack luster to the overall image. The fault is usually in the lighting and contrast. (I've also been guilty of this) Carrara has very powerful render and lighting, so I often try to utilize it. I chose DAZ;s Sadie to work with because she has very simple texture maps. I Adjusted my Key and Fill lights to get a high contrast and added Subsurface shading to the skin. I am more pleased with the results here, than some of my renders of the past. It's always a learning experience.

Nicely done! I hear you. I've had the same feeling about my own renders. And it's tricky: The interplay between light and shaders can be so delicate. And learning is most of the fun!
