Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

The one at the back looks like it has a face :) they do look wet and so probably are slippery - LOL, I am sure they wouldn't have minded if you had rang their doorbell :) Good shot :)

Whatever they are this is a smashing picture Andrea.

Nice capture. At first I thought they looked like stones. Zooming in there is definitely a face on the larger one and it looks like its trying to eat the smaller. Sort of a Pac Man thing going on.

Well, I'm not positive, but they sure look like Slippery Jacks to me. I really like the color and low sun lighting effects in this pic.

What a great find, Andrea! These are really something else! I don't think I've seen ones quite like this... talk about fungi! :) Excellent capture in this lighting, and such excellent texture!

Oh, just run over there and ask. They probably don't even know they've got 'em growing in the yard. You'd be surprised at what people don't notice! LOL! One day I saw a tiny shroom in my yard, and when I started looking, I realized the whole yard was littered with the things. They were everywhere! How can you not notice "everywhere?" But there you have it. I agree with Mark ... sort of a PacMan thing going on.

I see the face in the upper shrooms and it seems to be annoyed for some reason Great capture

Pluck up! What can they do but say no and chase you down the street with a carving knife, LOL!

I saw the Pacman thing straight away looking at these! Great shot of these Buns in the moss!

Great capture. Supposedly edible but I would not want to try it, as with many on the edge of being quite poisonous there can be unknown reactions to such fungi, concentrations can be in the skins so some people who risk it remove out skins and cook them well... one could tell instantly by checking underneath if it's Suillus luteus.

They probably wouldn't mind if you just took them, most people don't care about fungus, just their lawns! WHat a great find!
