Description

While in Port at Mykonos, waiting for the 'All Aboard' time to arrive at 23:30 so we could depart Mykonos, the 'F/B Theologos P' berthed across from us. The 'Theologos P' is a Ro-ro/passenger ship that operates between Rafina, Greece and the Cyclade islands of Andros, Tinos, and Mykonos. This Fast Ferry is 118.14 m long, is capable of 22 knots, and carry up to 1154 Passengers and 300 cars or 70 trucks. We watched a seemingly endless line of cars and semis roll off the ship and use the road that leads around Mykonos Town to other communities and resorts on the island. This must have been the 'after' picture ... she's riding pretty high in the water! I love watching ships, seeing cargo of all kinds loading and unloading. We lived in a house with a view of the Tacoma tide flats when I was in high school, and I'd sit out on the deck or in front of the living room window and be entertained for hours!

I love the way the ship is highlighted by the light dark contrast. Thanks for sharing

The small car alongside really puts the ships size into perspective, I was always fascinated by ships unloading and watched as all manner of things came ashore :) great shot :)

beautiful ship and low light foto when I lived in Houston I past the ship channel almost every day and the auto carrier ships would be unloading for a week or more 24 hours per day. I was told at that time they were carrying 8,000 cars plus each journey from Japan. now they must carry more
