My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

@Wolfenshire...If you can't see the point then maybe a desert hike is not the thing for you. :D @ Auntietk I love the ....point,,,of view. Awesome shot. Thanks for sharing.

giulband
very good shot!!
whaleman
I would have liked to get a couple too but since they are protected I had no idea if it would cause any harm, so there was no point in it for me. An interesting shot and I had already forgotten how well they protect themselves...from us!
durleybeachbum
Impressive! Don't trip up!
Katraz
I'd love to see these in the wild if I ever get over there you will have to point me in their direction.

You soon get the point that they want to be left alone! Nice shot.

Really great shot; everyone else already made the point about the point of view, so I'll refrain, but you really nailed this one!

Kind of surrealist picture :))

Looks painful.
goodoleboy
Terrific profile portrait of a very sticky subject. At least the effort was not pointless.
wysiwig
Seems like a rather prickly fellow but you managed to capture his most prominent features very well. Excellent close up. A view not usually seen.

Well, this is a really SHARP and clear shot, Tara! Any closer, and you'd be getting punctured, hon! You're braver than me! And I made the first "sharp" pun! Wheeeeeee! dances on computer desk :-P
bmac62
We all know this type of cactus from the movies but this view shows the real thing up close and personal. Nice job hon!
