Description

Another picture from Barlow Common, these are dried Teasels, they were and still are used to raise the nap on cloth or wool, they have been largely replaced by metal ones now in industrial use but are still fastened to teasel racks in small enterprises as the teasel hooks break rather than tear the fabric as the metal ones would do. There seemed to be so many growing here in the wild. Thanks for taking a look, Rob

WOW...what a wonderful close up and blurs background, Rob. And what does this tell us? Each stage has its meaning. You have to discover it only ....

We have thistle.....close to what I see here. They are a horror and can take over and ruin good pasture land in record time. Having said that, I think they are beautiful in bloom, and the little birds love the seeds. I think one great thing about your images is the history you provide with your shots. I never would have realized these pricky burrs would be used in this modern age! Keep them coming. Oh....beautiful capture!

Thank you, it's not a true HDR as it is a single shot but the RAW file was processed through Photomatix Pro
