UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Well, now that you've found it, how soon will you be sending it to me? It is pretty familiar to me as I once owned a 1938 Ford pickup bought from my uncle. I finally sold it back to him because he would never give me all the parts that were part of the deal, nor would he sign over the registration to me. Go figure! He wanted to sell it but he wanted to keep it too. He's dead now and was unable to take it with him.

Life constantly surprises doesn't it :) What a great POV it makes that radiator grill look huge! I also like the reflected sky in the lower bodywork, it's a beauty Bill

Looks too good to be a 'Barn find' with that lovely nose popping out. What a beauty Bill!
MrsRatbag
Wonderful face-shot of this old beauty!
helanker
We can say that this one had a quite pretty nose :-)

What did you promise it to get such a big grin?! Looks like it's in pristine condition. And nice reflections on the wheel cowlings. The garage adds a surreal background - looks like there's some hideous stuff hidden away there! Keep up the good work! You're really varying the fare! :-)

Looks in fine fettle after all these years, Bill. Nice capture of the olde truck sitting in the garage, and at least protected from the elements....hot sun, wind and sand storms in particular.

It has the face of an English Bulldog, nothing wrong with that - it's very classy ! and then I discovered the two-toned colours on this truck, which really appeals to my senses - is as good as it gets, just like two-toned shoes ;P fine POV Bill, of Aladdin's cave with treasure ... BB
Faemike55
Very beautiful capture

Nice POV Bill. It looks like it has been washed and polished just for you. I have never seen an old car or truck in Jerome or anywhere else in Arizona looking that shiny unless they were at a show!

That's a pretty sweet looking old truck, Bill! A great photo of a fascinating place! I'm gonna have to get out there someday with my new camera - the flying one. :-D

just got in, bill, and only have time for a handful of RR comments, so I'll only do one of yours now, and I'll do more after the holidays. I love this shot. At first I thought, "just 100 ISO"? But then I realized, the low ISO allows all that dark to come at us in highly rich tones, and of course you're using a 2.8 f/stop and a moderately open shutter speed. The dark and light here is beautiful. The frontal grill shot is a portrait---the truck just shows its teeth and commands our attention. Glorious for all its orneriness. The blue light on the fender is wonderful---a fine choice, because otherwise this is an interior shot with lots of darkness; and that sky reflection grounds us in the daytime in front of it. And those reds, and the soft (bokeh-d) windows and other lights back there---they're fine contrasts. A big facial portrait, bold and quite warm somehow, and it makes that old leviathan (the truck) show personality, a desire to be photographed, and an in your face "I'm here and I ain't budgin'." I wish a wonderful holiday to you and tara! And I hope you had a wonderful time with Lucinda. A beautiful shot. I wish I could shoot cars with this much character.

That is a great photo of this massive grill!
