Description

Just a quickie I threw together this evening while Sean and Caitlin were watching Blues Clues for the 14th time. I finally figured out how to do layers in Gimp and love Mari's snow PNGs. You may see more wintery images now that I can do this. :-) Daz MilHorse, one with Dream Weaver's Dun texture

Think of light blues and purple shadows for snow (looks a bit sandy) and mabey a field or some trees in the background...:) Luv the falling snow and the horses look great, nice work for a quickie!

WOW! This is pretty cool Terri! I love the blurring of the snowflakes in the foreground. Well done. Gimp? So, you must be a Mac user? I hear they are awesome computers once you get used to them. Gonna get one someday I hope. But, the one I want is VERY expensive. Great work here. as always.

Wonderful horse attitudes ! Just in case, you can also "google" some snow brushes for The GIMP and do your own (snow) layers : samples you can remember there http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2388082&user_id=671256&np&np As you did, this is just postwork. Another way is to add two (or more) planes (Poser primitives props) when building the 3D scene. For example one called A, in front the character(s), another one, called B, behind : where A is the one with a big flakes texture you can do using the GIMP and B has some little flakes. A little bit more complex, that needs a bigger computer process... :-p Just to say.

One wonders if horses feel cold. These two certainly look like they need a meal and a warm place to rest. I'm somewhat unsure about the yellowish tint of the snow on the ground. Would have thought it should be white and gray? Then again, I've never seen snow before. :)
