Description

Battered old Atom-age rocket three hundred miles above Solis Lacus, Mars. It's early spring and the canal ice is starting to break up. Soon the desert below will be green with vegetation. The background image was rendered in Bryce using a NASA photo of a desert taken from orbit, and an ESA photo of an Antarctic ice shelf. I probably still need to do some work on the ice.

Looks excellent, like the 'Nazca' lines on the desert.

LIke it's flying right off the cover of an early ANALOG magazine cover! I love the Mars probes and rovers, but it's so sad they swept away this vintage version of Mars. Your ship is spectacular!

Nice homage to classic SF at its best!

This image catches the feel of the science fiction of that now long gone era. Beautiful design and execution! :-)
