Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

So do I, nice looking wood textures too, shame that everything has to be locked up though isn't it a lovely shot Andrea

New wood and a new chain but still the textures are great.

So beautiful and not even rusty yet :-)

5482 I reckon that opens it :)) I like the textures in the timber.

I'm fascinated with these chains and padlock captures, the mundane takes on a new visual experience when focused upon and isolated. Maybe the new trend is not train spotting but chain spotting. Nice work. :-)

Great Capture,

Yes, not a very old fence, and the chain isn't at all rusty yet! Great find!

Yes, a far cry from your usual eroded and rusty 16th Century antique of a padlock and chain in this excellent photo, A. Even the handsome fence is of recent vintage.

Wonderful capture - interesting that they are using a combo-lock! if anyone forgets the combo - there's always the bolt/chain cutter
danapommet
It is the clarity of the chain and padlock that jumped out at me!

Everything is clean and new, quite nice!

Hope no one forgets the combination to that luck .... Nice shot. Aloha

Looks like new!!!

Everything shiny and new! It makes for something different, but equally interesting. Yesterday we went with Lucinda (myrrhluz) to the old missions in San Antonio. She and I came upon a thick wood bar that was padlocked across an opening in a stone wall. The entire thing couldn't have been more than one or two feet high. We laughed about the padlock and mentioned your name, but gosh ... I don't think either of us took a picture for you! sigh I don't know what I was thinking.

Excellent photography here.

I agree with the others. Nice colors and textures. I particularly like the combo lock. Rather attractive.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

The same padlock as on my gates but it's a lot cleaner.
