Description
gloomy day on the floodplain. Warm, all the snow has melted and it rained last night. Have to wonder what happened here, was it lightning or bugs or disease/age. There is a lot of shale here, usually the large trees will tip over in heavy winds, that didn't happen this time.

This looks like my woodland. Very old trees have died from drought or flood and stand like gnarled sentinels. Beautiful capture.
