Boy do we need some Texas sunshine It's foggy and just above freezing the ground outside is waterlogged but at least we have power and aren't flooded like in some parts of the UK. Great photo I shall stare at it for a while ,love the light and shade It would be an irresistible climb.

Texas has the best rest stops in the entire country. That's a cool capture with the lighting. Almost looks like an old knight should be coming down the stairs.

another of your signature pieces with light and deep dark, and rich golden tones, and textures and mysterious mood. Your photos both speak of the places you visit, but also separate of them, because this piece could be in a cave, in an old monastery (I assume what this Mission is/was), in an old fort, an underground home, etc etc; and it could come from Texas all the way to the Middle East, to West Africa, etc. Universality in the particular. Golden and light-filled, a beautiful image for our dear friend in Denmark (where it's cold like it is here---although we had windchills down to 15 below. THAT'S fun!) Beautiful dedi for our friend. Happy Birthday Helle, and many more!!! And I hope you and Bill (tara) are having a peaceful and loving holiday and I wish you both a beautiful New Year...

I love how the light gets brighter as you ascend the old stairs - as if you're climbing out of the darkness into the light of a new year. With each step the darkness recedes.. Wonderful warm colors - a lovely photo, Tara!

Beautiful! I love the lighting and textures! The golden glow and the progression from dark to light going up the stairs are wonderful. Gorgeous shot and great dedication. We could use some Texas sunshine today, but not to worry. It will be back tomorrow.
