Please spare a thought for all those brave men, returning home after fighting for our country.
I find it hard to imagine the full extent of the trauma, so many of them experienced.
Losing a friend or three, in a thrice, or maybe stepping directly on to an explosive device, rendering them useless (in their eyes) until they are helped by our health teams.
PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is one of the most debilitating afflictions one could ever imagine.
Trouble is, it doesn't necessarily rear it's ugly head until years after the trauma.
There are literally hundreds of troops leaving Afghanistan as the campaign is scaled down, leaving untold havoc in the minds of so many.
PTSD symptoms can be eased with specialist care, but the medical profession seem so know so little as to how to treat the condition, other than sedate them and keep them locked away!
I am proud to be on a board of Trustees, who are fighting for recognition for the condition, to free so many otherwise happy families from this serious illness.
Blue Apple Heroes, already helps Veterans get on their feet again, offering them work in horticulture and skills such as carpentry, for example.
Blue Apple has a warehouse in Warrington UK where furniture, electrical appliances, clothes and toys are all stored for needy families and stock is also sold to generate much needed income.
Please remember, that Blue Apple Heroes, does NOT discriminate between conflicts, like other charities do.

very commendable of you Steve to give your effort and time for such a worthy pursuit. there are organizations here also to help veterans, but like many charities in the US, the "administration" takes so much of the donations for their salary
