Description
For weeks now the chatter had slowed, the calls from home had stopped. Now, the background hiss of static was silent.
Merv had chosen this duty, she liked the idea of being out here at the furthest listening tower, no one to bother her, no one to shout orders and she could do as she pleased, walk around naked when the sun eventually reached the daybreak cycle if she wanted..and she occasionally did when the damn wind eased up.
No one to pester her over stupid bits of paper she had not filed.........but now, as she stood looking up, she shivered.
