Description
The bark of madrone trees undergoes many transformations over time. The texture varies from very smooth to very bumpy to peeling in shreds & the colors change as well - at various times it can be green, beige, orange, red, brown & every shade in between. And, like the one in this photo, it can have varying textures & colors at once. There are lots of madrones where I live & it's one of my favorite trees (though I like generally like almost all trees - except maybe ones that block my view of something I want to see)...
