Description
This is a bit of an experiment. On the left is a render from Poser Pro 2012; on the right a render of the same scene from Luxrender via Reality 3. The qualifier is that the Poser render deploys pretty much all the tricks I know (EZSkin, SSS, some special work on the eyes), whereas I am a rookie with Reality and Lux. That said, I greatly prefer the Poser Pro render, although arguably Lux did a better job with the eyes (obviously a crucially important aspect of realism). I do however like the various ways I can play with things in Lux: e.g. gain on lights, various camera films etc.—all while the app is still rendering. I also suspect that results tip heavily in Lux's favour when dealing with outdoor scenes....

Nicely done, I used it one or twice. I like Firefly much better.

The lighting looks different in each render - did you change it? The hair looks better in the Poser version, even with the lighting difference. I use Lightwave, which has always had an excellent render package, or Vue for most of my large render needs.

Lights have to be changed for Lux, by the nature of the case. The Poser lighting here is one understated spotlight in the front and an illuminated square off to the left. For Lux, I used two Reality mesh lights, positioned similarly.
