My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

It's all been slipping away ... well and truly! I have seen and read about it - what a great pity ... but it may not all be lost, the Earth will regenerate and create something else - of use to us, no doubt ? Not everything else is a man-made disaster but what an interesting pic this makes Tara, ...now, will someone please, pass the salt for my chips ;P BB

It would be a great dock for hovercraft, the space kind, not the watery ones. ;p This whole place is so sad, but given that it's California and for decades they've been predicting "the big one" maybe it will come and the water will return here. It could happen! Fantastic capture, and I hope you and the mister have a wonderful new year!

and it is a shame that the people of the area allowed this to happen without protest. Man's inhumanity to the world will come back to haunt him too soon, I fear. no matter what some politicians say. ( you know which group I'm referring to) Great capture of reality

I read it's going to happen in more places than that. Coastal cities are already disappearing, deserts becoming uninhabitable, and the next fifteen years is going to be a terrible shock for those that have kept their eyes shut.

That looks like Kansas lakes most of this summer. We finally got rains to fill them the last week of August.

An image of political thoughtlessness. Your photos of this desolate place recur in my dreams sometimes .

The Salton Sea has been retreating for decades while politicians debated the best way to save it. You will notice that it is still retreating. Pretty stark reminder in this image. Meanwhile 2013 saw the least amount of rain for the year in recorded history. It is such a relief to know that global climate change is just a myth.

I like this photo of this area the best of all you have posted so far. I do not know why that is, but I think for some reason this shot gives me hope. Yes, the marina is abandoned and dry, but all the water in the distance gives it the feeling to me that renewed life is just a stones throw away and everything can change in an instant.

Superb capture Tara. God bless.

Looks like they will have to use these as stop points for dune buggies!

It is a bit sad that it has changed to drastic, but you got a beautiful shot there anyway.

It is one of the more bizarre places around. Another cool shot.

A very haunting image, Tara, but strangely intriguing at the same time... How I'd love to be there with my little 'copter...
