Description

I redid this one from several days ago. It appears I exceeded the limits of Poser 9 with that image. If you choose to review it, you will notice that the Cadillacs don't have a nice shine to them. The shadows are off or non-existent. I tried rendering that particular one several times with many different settings but could never get the ray tracing to work. So, in my experiment with this image, I kept reducing the number of objects in the scene and also the size of the image until I was able to get what you see here. If anyone has a solution to this problem, I sure would love to hear it! Lotsa characters. Rendered in Poser 9. Post work in Photoshop 7. Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!

I'm afraid my solution is not too practical Radders - PP2012 or 2014 should do the trick (IMHO). I agree with the sentiment too mate!

Unfortunately, I think this is the computer that limit what you want to do ... Maybe there should be more memory (I have 8 GB), and however I see that I have fewer problems (with Poser Pro 2012) than Danielle (with Poser 9) for "heavy" scenes with identical computers. Very nice scene and render!

Yes, some effects show up in a better way. But I cannot give you hints because I do not work with poser

I have the same problem than you, when the scene is too heavy, I lost the shadows on the ground and the Ray tracing ! I am obliged to make the render in several installments (I hope you understand what I write....) ! But your image is very well done, Bill !

I stopped using Poser for this exact reason, I got tired of the diminishing quality.

excellent! When I used Poser 9 in situations like this one, in Firefly Render I used to reduce the Bucket Size to a minimum (i.e. 4), in "General Preferences" "Render" I unchecked the "Separate Treads" and put the Number of Treads to a minimum too (i.e. 2). It worked (most of times ;-D).

Cool scene. How much RAM do you have? I used to have rendering problems until I upgraded to 64 MB of RAM. Now, it renders everything but slowly, especially any pic where I used the snow machine.

Wish I could help you Rad, but I use DAZ Studio and don't know how those programs compare. I have 12 gig RAM and a Radeon 7450 card, but don't try the same things you do. This is a great render nonetheless.

Great scene Rad despite your render problems...Sounds like memory to me. I used Poser 9 with 4gig RAM and experienced similar problems in scenes with many characters. Flavia49's solution is worth following up as this may well be a fix. Since I moved up to 64bit and 16gig RAM memory is rarely a problem. I like many of the above comments now much prefer DazStudio. Maybe you should give it a try as it's free and most of your models you use will work in Daz, especially Michael as he comes from Daz.. It is a little different to Poser and may take time to learn but there are plenty of tutes on YouTube.

I haven't found the solution other than stripping the image of almost all its character to get the computer to agree to work. This is a great image even in its minimalist version.
