Description

ZOOM Please! You just can't see the details in the small version! The title kind of says it all for this one :) I basically set out to make an Evil Army. After a while I stopped adding characters because it was just getting too crowded. I still have many unused monster characters that I haven't used too! I spent a LONG time tweaking this one. Mostly the poses but also the framing and lighting. Eventually I decided it wasn't perfect but it is as close as my abilities will let me get and did the final render. Surprisingly it only took about 15 minutes to render. The 2 skinny guys in the middle are Wither HD for Genesis 2 Male. Their 5 bigger brothers are, left to right, Gargantual, Skullcrusher Ogre, Infernal Behemoth, Rock Demon and Greater Goblin. All 5 are Genesis. Poses are mostly by me but a some of them came from presets, at least to start. I had to tweak the Greater Goblin's shape a fair bit because I have him in such an extreme pose. All expressions by me. The textures are mostly stock but I did a lot of work on the Skullcrusher Ogre and the Rock Demon. I tweaked the Ogre to change him from green to that rather repulsive brown that you see. I won't say what it reminds me of! I tweaked the Rock Demon to make him a little less shiny and I tweaked his rocks to make them less of a neon orange colour. I slightly tweaked the mummy/zombies texture, just to give them red eyes. The set, including the skybox are from Easy Environments: Road to Hell by Flipmode. I did not use his lights. The only thing I tweaked was the position of the giant spikes. The lighting is by me and is slightly more complex than I usually use. Advanced Ambient Light is used for ambient light (of course). Set at about 40% intensity and with an orange tint. The main light is from an Advanced Spot Light. Set at about 79% with an orange tint. Shadows set to 7% softness. I used 3 more Advanced Spot Lights for fill because it is such a big scene. 1 light for the Infernal Behemoth, 1 focused on the spiky thing and the final light is focused on the small hill at the left of the scene. All 3 are about 40% with an orange tint. And all 3 have shadow set to 0%. And that's it. I hope you enjoy my monstrous creation! Thank you for viewing and commenting on my previous render!

I like how you use your lights. Are Advanced lights standard with D|S? I usually use UberEnvironment and any unusual settings often give me problems.

I love your collection of creatures :) Nice atmosphere to go with them too. The Ogre really stood out to me, I can tell you worked on him.
