Description

A busted ankle on holidays in Yeoval curtailed my exploration of my new camera until a cousin came in yelling about the 'funny sun'. I grabbed my crutches and hobbled out and gasped. We didnt know if the halo was dangerous to eyesight like an eclipse so my cousins were shooting blindly. I however was in a state of bliss because I had the flip out viewfinder of my new Nikon D5200. I loved this shot the best with the clouds floating by. The only post work is slight cropping to cut out the corner of the verandah. The effect is apparently caused by particles in the sky. We didn't know if it was from nearby bush fires or approaching storms. info on Sun Halo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22%C2%B0_halo http://earthsky.org/space/what-makes-a-halo-around-the-moon Nikon D5200 1/1250 sed - F18 - ISO 100. Thanks for taking a look. Comments and advise are welcome
