Happy New Year everyone!
This is my first new image for ages - I decided to get back to my roots and do an African landscape, which would be incomplete without some local fauna.
Leopard is DAZ Big Cat 2 ( a vast improvement over the initial big cat model), posed in PoserPro 2014, scene setup and rendered in Vue 2014 Infinite. The terrain is by Dax Phandi from the Vue sample scenes - I changed the POV and atmosphere, added the acacia trees and leopard, and did some minor post-work in Perfect Photo Suite 8 and Photoshop CC.
It's safe to view for as long as you like, but please don't step into the picture - leopards are extremely dangerous...!

Now THIS has Craig atmospherics! I'm skipping ahead because I don't want to neglect your more current work. Beautiful modulated light and shadow across this piece, peaking at the leopard but also gracing the rest of the piece with wonderful gradations of light and dark, and making gentle ghosts of the rock formations and turning the trees into dreams. You have the two trees as "frames" to the work, one on each side and each tilting to the center; and the piece opens up from darker left side to more open lighter right side. (One row of rocks, jutting into the water, decreases size as the rocks move into the water...a very sweet touch.) A beautiful atmospheric expanse, with lots of dark passages, and lots of open light and airiness. And it feels like dawn, and the predator truly looks like a predator; with that lonely beauty that wild felines create in their surroundings. A beautiful piece of work, Craig.
