Description

This is the church at Brayton, Nr Selby North Yorkshire, as you can see it was an overcast day and had rained earlier. The church is Norman and built on the site of an earlier Saxon Church, the Spire was added in the 1500s, the shot was taken through the Lynch gate in the foreground, I will try to take a shot of this in Springtime as it has a wonderful showing of blossom Many thanks for looking, Rob

A very nice looking church and gate Rob. I go into a lot of churches in my retirement job as a pall bearer.

I could spend hours exploring the grounds there. I love the look of the bare trees against the sky. It gives a totally different perspective to the linear aspect of the church.

Good shot - did you darken the sky in post or did you use a filter?

I used Nikon efex Pro software to add a graduated neutral density filter post process to help bring out the sky details

I can see exactly where you stood. I probably would also have chosen this point. Focus on the gate in the gate and the parallel verlaufenen tips. The small cemetery looks like a small garden. With us, everything is hidden behind high walls. The atmosphere is round and harmonious ..... despite or because of the wet weather. A picture to linger and reflect. Beautiful, Rob.
