Description
The River Tiber and the remains of the oldest Roman stone bridge in Rome, the Pons Aemilius, today called the Broken Bridge. In the back, Tiber Island, which housed a temple of Asclepius back in the day and now has a hospital and the Basilica of San Bartolomeo. I'm reasonably sure that the bridge on that side is the Pons Fabricius, which wikipedia says it's the oldest Roman bridge in its original state in the city.
Whew. For someone coming in from the New World like me, the amount of history in Rome is overwhelming. Back home something like this would be a top attraction. In the guide book I bought, it's on page 87.
