Description

No history, or some kind of alternate history involved in this one. It just seemed like a cool idea after seeing these Northrop XB-49 flying wing variations on Sketchup Warehouse. They just looked amazing and begged for some sort of scenario. The Northrop aircraft company actually completed 3 of these aircraft, built from converted XB-35's and multiple flight tests were done. There were actually 7 XB-35's slated for conversion, but the project was cancelled abruptly in 1950.Not a total loss. Many of it's design characteristics were developed into the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. It was a design that had to wait for its time...specifically the development of "fly by wire" technology. Anyway, this was fun, and another in my alternate history offerings. XB-49: Free on Sketchup Warehouse by Gillman Uboat xxiii "Elektroboot": Sketchup warehouse by Synteria Schnellboot: German E-boat from ontarget3d.com Crew man and officer: JamesG2 figure and versatile and good looking RN Gear generously loaned by Tryphon. Good creativity in this dramatic shot. New scenarios for aircraft can be a daunting task, but then that can be said about almost any subject matter (LOL). Never the less, very nice render. Keep 'em flyin'.

Excellent alternate History Render mate! I like it loads.. Credit of course to the 'Flying Wing', must first lead from the Horton flying Wing flown by the Germans (but not used operationally) at the end of WW2.. The Scientists were removed to the States and thus the 'Flying Wing' was born and then, as you said, the B.2.. Well done mate. Rob
