Description
"Who is Yahrr?" Eve asked, while JS was arranging his stuff before leaving for Rasharr.
"He is an esteemed sage and I'd like to earn his support. Maurr can't go, Eve, everyone would recognize him. Moreover, one thing is to ask his support as a leader of the Blues, a different one is to get it as a foreigner who is setting foot on the sacred land of Rasharr. The political structure of the GHOULs is deep-rooted in the fact that they're a religious sect. They justify their actions by means of manipulated reading of Rasharr sacred texts, so their enemies are not only political foes but also heretic fiends. Now clashing with a political party is one thing, but a clash with religious and a sectarian philosophy is by far another matter. The only way to fight a religious struggle is to have wise and universally respected religious leaders supporting you. If Yahrr supports us, we'll declare the GHOULs heretical." JS grinned.
"You're devilishly cunning!" Eve smiled back. "But how will he trust you if you lie about your identity?"
"I won't lie, just won't tell who I am. I'm going as an Earthener fighting for and with Maurr's Rasharr, which is true, but leaving out that I'm the boss. If he guesses it or expressly asks, I'll tell the truth, but I'm good enough to go unnoticed and Rohrr has a spook bone in his body too."
On Rasharr Rohrr and Swamp immediately reported to JS.
"This adoption thing and the Greens and Oranges seem to work. Now many families have taken a liking to the guys of the 'international brigades' ..."
"I see Swamp is getting fat!" JS laughed.
"Not guilty!" Swamp cried. "The family I'm billeted in wanted to adopt me and the party was huge. You know what 'huge' mean?"
"What even Swamp isn't able to eat!" Rohrr laughed, then: "The idea of giving the right to speak but not to vote in the councils is winning. Local leaders and people aren't yet ready to see foreigners dictating rules in their own homes."
JS smiled: "Well, are there some local leaders who could be troubles?"
"Some." Rohrr made a list. "But the real tough cookie is Wohrr. He asked to come with us to Yahrr's."
"Kill him." Eve thought.
JS smiled and thought: "No, it's early, targeted assassinations are a last resort. Let's give him a chance, he's a good leader and will bring others with him."
Yahrr's farm stood in a remote area of Rasharr where he had retired disgusted by the GHOULs. His voluntary exile had saved him since the GHOULs gave up the difficult task to kill such a prestigious sage.
Yahrr welcomed his guests, but JS stood back pretending to be just Rohrr's bodyguard. Meanwhile he had worked on Wohrr, conquering his esteem. Now, however, JS realized that Yahrr was staring at him.
"Have you been one of the Great Matriarch's consorts, Earthener?" Yahrr snapped.
JS nodded. Yahrr made him sit with the others.
"So you're so smart to play the dumb when you need it." Yahrr smiled. "Why are you here, consort? How shall I call you?"
"Jay Sea."
He gasped in surprise.
"Why should someone like you fight for us? Do you want to build your empire on the ashes of our own?" Wohrr asked superciliously.
"No, I'm here for this." JS said and pulled out an insectoid head from a bag. "If I want to deal with this threat I need Rasharr swords at my side."
"The ancient enemy!" Yahrr cried. "Wife, go and take the sacred scrolls." Then he turned to the others: "The BAR empire's ancient sagas tell stories about this cruel enemy. It came from nowhere and was devouring the galaxy. The BAR had been defeated, but suddenly the monsters disappeared."
Yahrr was glancing through the ancient scrolls when his wife sitting on the Throne of Clairvoyance sang:
"Comes the bold lady,
her blade bloody,
her sword slew
the bestial crew."
"So also women fought!" Eve mind-screamed.
"Puhrr will be ecstatic!" JS thought.

I think I picked this up just about the time you were writing about the buggers. Cool chapter to tie things in. A common and deadly enemy to unite everyone. Excellent image too. I like the casual instrumentalist in background right. Awesome work.
