Description

Diamonds of course! I was kind of narrow focused in this one. Spent a lot of time on the materials for her skin and hair. Also a fair amount of time on the diamonds. Everything else.. not so much (how about that background huh?! lol :D). I'm happy with the result though. As a side note, I first tried placing all the diamonds slightly above her hands and using Poser's new bullet physics system to simulate them as rigid body objects falling and coming to a rest naturally. This had some hilarious results - I either don't understand the system or it's not very accurate. Ended up just manually placing them. Hope you like the image and thanks for taking a look! -Matt Info: Setup in Poser Pro 2014 Rendered in OctaneRender This image contains NO postwork Additional Credits: The diamonds are free models from 3dlapidary.com

Time well spent on skin and hair, absolutely. Beautiful presentation and pose. Any mundane or out of focus BG would be fine because the center of attention is so well defined. NICE job!

The diamond models are from 3dlapidary.com. They have a ton of different physically accurate gemstone cuts free to download. Many are in .DXF format, which Poser imports easily - just make sure "Flip Normals" is checked in the import options or they'll be inside out (and you probably have to scale them down because they are huge compared to Poser units). They don't come with any materials though so you'll have to create that, and make sure 'Smooth polygons' is unchecked in Poser on each of the gems so they retain the faceted look.

I like this portrait very much, because of her smile, diamonds and natural depth of field. This is great in Octane, isn't :)?. What I got the most problem is skin bumping and very often I think bump maps form Poser are not necessary usefull in Octane rendering.
