I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Excellent presentation, and a great model! Are the asteroids just spheres with displacement,or built up of various primitive shapes? Looks really good !
NefariousDrO
They're a grouping of the built-in "rocks" primitives that Bryce has. I have struggled to find ways of getting the kinds of shapes NASA's probes have been revealing, but close over-lapping groups of those rocks seems to work fairly well.

Fantastic image! Corrie

You're doing a freaking outstanding job on these asteroids, Mike! I'm just blown away that you do these in Bryce - it looks more like Vue or Zbrush work! The technology is truly amazing indeed! Like hitting a fly a mile away with a BB gun.. Hey! My name is going to an asteroid named Bennu - and beyond..... http://www.nasa.gov/press/2014/january/nasa-invites-public-to-send-names-on-an-asteroid-mission-and-beyond/index.html#.UuS4CbQo7RY

Great image! Nice job on the asteroid textures.

You are so clever to create an image with a basis in the modern space exploration goals! Very well done! I think you need a career with NASA doing their graphics! =) Stay warm up there~ I for one, will be soooo glad for Spring! It has been a long time since it has been this cold so far south, we aren't used to it!

I jump onto bouncing balls from the roof of my house all the time. But I must admit I do it with my eyes open... Great concept and render.
