Description
This ones for Andrea I know you like rust.
For those that don't know about UK canals there are a lot of small bridges, the corners on the footpath side have a thick steel edge to them with grooves in them , originally they were smooth.
At one time in the past barges hauled cargo up and down the canals which were the motorways of England before lorries and trains, the boats were towed by horses, the grooves you see in this metal were made by the ropes as they passed under them, although it was sand from the footpath in the rope that did the damage, most now have diesel engines but a few still use horses mostly for towing tourist boats..
