I think that term was invented by Hitler to describe Jazz music. Later was used to name the radars inside the Night fighters used against RAF night bombers.

WOW! You're really back into it, Neil. Excellent work! And that name for the night fighter's radar. And the darkness with death suddenly striking. Was that 75% of bomber commands crews never got back home alive? Just as bad as the German submariners survival figures. Great job with the clouds and the moon.
