Hi, I am Barbara and live in Lincolnshire. I love nothing better than walking with my 3 dogs, (Large Munsterlanders) and taking the camera along. Iam afraid my photographic skills are not very good, I just point and click & hope for the best. Sometimes I do take some nice shots!!
I have lived with this breed since 1986, before that I had border collies. I was told when getting my first Munster, Jenna, I would become addicted and I sure was, owning 7 of this breed over the years.
Although Munsters are a working gundog, afraid I couldn't shoot anything, so we do other things like, showing, obedience and heelwork to music.
The girls are all different & I hope to show that in their pictures.
I would like to thank my good friend Janeeden for persuading me to get started.
Video's & songs for the girls can be seen on www.jendellas.com

Barbara, I think this is a marvelous photo of them and I'm so glad you shared it with us. I've always liked German Sheperds.

A treasured capture of fond memories.... German shepherds, such a handsome breed... my old neighbour had them for years, she has paintings on the walls at her home of them all... I believe the breed can suffer from hip issues?.. dysplasia, it is indeed genetic and if I'm not mistaken it can show up in dogs as young as two years.. is it like 1 in 5 dogs can be affected?.

stunning!!! banana back?? LOL seems 'common' in all popular breeds? 'changes' that is?? we used to have a West Highland white, she turned 15,5. as she was aging, one could hardly recognize fellow 'westies' anymore ;-) not funny though!! been secretary/adm. n more of the Dutch angora-rabbit- club, no breeders here, but respons. is enormous. 'advice' would often mean talking people out of 'breeding'. no one is waiting for- or will 'benefit' from animals to be born that aren't carefully bred, thus ruining the breed. apart from all health probs 1 could encounter -detail-.

What a beautiful sound looking dog she was too, and yes I agree that these days the poor German Shepherds are suffering due to some fancy fads of some breeders and then again bad judges who give top awards to the poor dogs with the weak hind quarters hugs and love xxxxxxxx

I too hate the look of the "American German Shepherd", as we tend to call those deformed, crippled looking dogs. I think that most of the GSDs that our police departments use are German, and don't have that deformed look the "banana back" gives them. Your gorgeous GSD is the way they should look. Sigh. What's been done to so many breeds in the name of "style" and "conformation" is criminal, it's caused so many health issues for them. I'm not sure I would even want another purebred dog.

Helen is a beautiful and healthy looking dog Barbara. I can see that she had strong hind legs and a level back!
