Description
Captured 1/25/14, early on an overcast morning, somewhere around the neighborhood.
This tree had a bit more freedom at the base than the one shown yesterday.
Please ZOOM.

Knarly, nobby, lumpy and bumpy...quite a solid root base there at the surface. If that's what we can see imagine how far and wide it goes below! What a great find, Harry; tons of texture and colour in and around those big feet.

Lol, "Knarly, nobby, lumpy and bumpy" (Denise)---sounds like the name of a really bad comedy team! (Or a gang of Disney mice who never made the cut...) But that describes these strange beautiful root spills. Zoomed, we really see the color on these roots and lower tree trunk: I assume they're either molded or else they have a natural blue tint to them. They look like they'd glow in the dark---such vivid bluish tones! And the roots just blurt out and bubble over and curdle up, like lava, or like oatmeal oozing onto the grass. And they really rush out to the edges, too: On the curb side, they come right to the curb and stop. Great seeing on your part, finding these. And while this is the same trunk, your pov's and changes in light, etc, make them look like two different trunks. A real cornucopia, Harry: Like it bubbled over when it hit the ground, and froze there. Wonderful! I've been here an hour and 15 minutes, and unfortunately have to go. But I'll be back for more. (I left 5 or 6 the end of last week, so at least I've gotten some continuity: It allows me to delve into your inner eye, and it's a joy.) I'll be back soon, but this was a total delight as always! Take care, Harry.
